The Doo- Wah Riders possess the rare combination of many years of experience and youthful energy, fired by a love of what they do. The Doo-Wahs are country, with a unique, original sound which they define as “high energy country with a Cajun twist”. Their tight musicianship and powerful arrangements of classic country and original songs have made them favorites everywhere they go.
The Doo- Wah Riders have appeared in concert with literally every well-known country legend including Garth Brooks, George Strait, Alabama, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Dolly Parton, The Judds, Brad Paisley, Randy Travis, The Oak Ridge Boys, Travis Tritt, Leann Rimes, John Denver, The Statler Brothers, and as a backup band for numerous other country favorites, including Glen Campbell, Billy Ray Cyrus, Martina McBride and others.
The Doo-Wahs appeared in the movie “Basic Instinct”, starring Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone. They were featuring doing one of their own songs, “Glowing in the Ashes”. They appeared on TNN’s “Prime Time Country” and on the prime time television Dick Clark Production “Will You Marry Me?”
One night after playing music at a friend’s house, Kenny Lee Benson and Lindy Rasmussen decided to put a band together just for “laughs.” The Doo-Wah Ricers are still going strong and enjoying the “laughs!” Other long time members of the band are Keith Niehenke and Paul Loranger.
